We keep seeing and hearing Asian Carp jumping...somehow the sound of the boat causes them to leap ... we first saw them on the Kaskaskia River in 2008...they were jumping in big numbers there...these on the Illinois River were usually singles but you'd have several jump in a row and usually in shallow water....I worked really hard to catch one in action. Look closely, he's there....Let me go on record as saying there is nothing pretty about them...big, gray, ugly jumpers. And jump they do. Other boaters have some pretty wild stories of them leaping onto the swim platform or into the dinghy...creating a bloody mess!!!! We just had them flop against the boat...leaving an ugly "body print" behind...ugh!!! not pleasant!
