This map provides an overview of the Great American Loop. Our starting point will be St Charles. We plan to tour the Upper Mississippi regions next summer, head south in the fall. We don't want to be in the hurricane regions during hurricane season. Because we are in no hurry and on no set schedule, we have no idea how long it will take to complete the loop. Our plan is to come and go from Wichita by planning around holidays, family, and other special events. 2008 is the start of this grand adventure. In fact, Floyd leaves on Jan 1 for the Chapman Navigation School in Florida for 9 weeks of training. Before you know it, we'll be on our way.

She looks so forlorn...sitting in dry dock...waiting patiently for the adventures to begin....shrink wrap is not her idea of the good life. You just wait!!!!

We are pleased to have selected new fabrics for drapes and dining area. New furniture has arrived. However we thought maybe you'd be interested in a few "before" shots. Here's what she looks like before the re-model begins.

The GREAT adventures on the Tumbleweed begin. Floyd shipped her from the still waters of Lake of the Orzarks to the mighty Mississippi at St Charles. She is getting an overhaul and anxiously awaiting new furniture, drapes and carpet. Floyd is headed to sunny Florida for navigation training in January and February. We are off to LONDON in March. Then rediscovering our water legs in April. We plan to explore the Mississippi around St Louis in the spring. Our Great American Loop adventure into the upper regions of the Mississippi is slated to begin in July. Won't this be a grand adventure????
