We left. Waited just a little for the weather to clear and then headed out. We had only 18 miles to get to the next marina...the challenge was the three locks. The first was an 85 foot drop. Piece of cake. We plodded on and the other two (30 feet each) were open and waiting for us when we arrived. Wind continued to increase throughout the day. By the time we got hooked into the last lock the sky had clouded considerably and yes, the rain fell...we were both soaking before we arrived at Midway Marina, Fulton, Mississippi. It was plenty early...so we've done laundry and are headed up the hill to their restaurant...catfish is the speciality. We'll see. Weather permitting (What is with all these tropical storms???) we are headed to Aberdeen on Friday (three more locks), and on to Columbus on Saturday (one lock). I'm gonna miss locking through!!!! We plan to then stay in Columbus over the weekend. Tumbleweed is running really well. We have experienced some inverter difficulties yesterday and today. But that is not a deal stopper so we'll keep an eye on the weather and continue on. More later...of course.

Hey Tumbleweed Crew - - Glad to hear you are only a little bit soaked. We know that you will dry out (on the outside!!!) real fast. Now, for another weather alert. You should be out of the hurricane leftovers for now. Looks like Hannah/Ike/and Josephine will be headed more for the east coast. You should have smooth boating for the next few days. But, that can always change knowing the weatherman. Glad you are now dry and will have you land legs back soon. Love ya and miss ya l8r bb

One more note...LB has you pinpointed on the Atlas and has found he was going the wrong way down and now knows just how you did go and where you are now. Whew!!!! Didn't think he had it in him, but, ALAS, the lost is found (Not the Tumbleweed, but LB). He is really impressed. Whoo Hoo. Who knew. Love bb

Hope you made it to Columbus OK. We've had the rain yesterday and today. The State Fair opened yesterday so, of course, it has rained hard and lots.
Doug left yesterday AM heading to Canada fishing. They always drive so hope they missed the rain. Our house is getting pretty close to done. We'll go back end of the month and see how it goes!
