Pulled into Havana, Ill...Tall Timbers Marina...and plugged in big time...all ACs up and running...it was plenty steamy...and even with the breeze we were HOT!!!! We waited until the coolness of next morning to hike up to Dollar General and get some supplies (not really that cool) ...then off to our last lock at Beardstown...planning to anchor out (but not really wanting to) as there were no marinas between Havana and Grafton ...long stretch of nothingness...

The next morning we were singing...we are passing through Peoria, Peoria, Peoria...then Floyd corrected us...it is Pretoria and it is in South Africa...oh, well, that shut us up....how can you have any fun in this heat and humidity????

The next morning the Captain lamented the loss of his favorite $5 t-shirt...from the 2006 Fourth of July sale at Boater's World....First Mate said the hole in the chest meant it had to go, even if it was just getting broke in!!!....wah, wah, wah...now it is in the rag bin.

TUMBLEWEED cozied right up to the boats at the Illinois Valley Yacht (IVY) Club...we got gas, a pump out, and had a nice chat with the dock hand who just happened to be a Bradley fan...we talked WSU Shockers ...bar was hosting a taco feed...tacos were $1.50 a piece...so Becky volunteered to cook...HAHA, cheap date night for her!!! We spent more on margaritas to wash 'em down...

Certainly no signs of life in this grave yard for tow boats and old gambling casino boats...guess you just push them ashore and leave them to rot...or take the good parts to some one else...seemed pretty sad on several levels...
And the Crew said, he's napping...I'm on break...good thing the First Mate knew what to do...and how to go it alone!!!! LOL...long pleasant hours of boredom...kinda nice following our moments of terror in the lock at Starved Rock...
Somewhere along the way, Captain needed a break...can you believe he left us in charge??? And was actually able to sleep???? What was he thinking????
