Floyd couldn't resist these photos of Wilson Island...that's my maiden name...he's been amazed to learn that I was born in Wilson County...and the high school gym in Fredonia is named in honor of my dad, Max Wilson...so now he claims I also own an island...What a Deal???? Hey, doesn't take much to keep us entertained these days!!!!
Seeing the same scenery is a new experience for us...and must say it didn't take long to grow old....then we began to notice the differences...Like these cows cooling themselves in the river...where were they on that first trip through???

This Kimberly-Clark plant was certainly busier than when we were here earlier....maybe because we came by the first time on Sunday???? Mid-week, it was hopping!!!! We could smell it before we came around the bend...once you've sniffed a paper mill, you know that odor...
True to our plan...we gassed up and pumped out then headed through Fort Loudoun Lock to our anchorage at Little Paint Rock Creek. Just for grins, I asked Floyd to take this photo of what I see as we are at the bottom of the lock wall...looking up...weird, uh????

Rained most of the day on Monday...fine with us...we were doing serious grocery shopping and laundry. This is probably our last chance until we get back to Huntsville...temps today are to be high 80s...we'll head out around noon, go through the lock (going down all the way to Huntsville), then just a couple hours to our anchorage at Painted Rock Creek...don't you love the names they give these places???

We plan to do serious laundry and grocery shopping tomorrow with the courtesy van...then Tuesday we'll be headed out and down...thinking we'll be back in Huntsville around the 25th...and headed back to Wichita soon thereafter....going to try to spend as much time on the hook as we can...though we want to stop at Goose Pond Marina and catch up with some Looper pals....stay tuned!
Outta there at 9ish Sunday morning...light drizzle and rain predicted for most of the day...our 5 hour run back to Fort Loudoun was uneventful...though we did spot two tires and enough lumber floating in the river to build a house...my, my, we are not use to having to dodge so much floating debris in the water....we thought the Clinch River was bad...this has been a close second. Good thing the scenery and houses are so awesome....
