( Carol, Bob, Bobbi, Bill, Linda and Floyd)

Evening hors d'oeuvres were served by Bill and Bobbi Haag aboard their boat MIST, which we had originally met as DOTTIE S in July 2008...they had just purchased her in Punta Gorda and were moving her north to Racine...we, on the other hand, had just left St Charles and spent a week traveling south to Green Turtle Bay. We were placed in the slip next to them. They were anxious to hear about their chances of going where we had come from....With the flooding on the Mississippi, they were stuck there in that dry dry county so ,of course, we saved them from sobriety!!!! We had only traveled about 300 miles on this LOOP adventure. Now we are almost 6000 miles later and just about to finish. We laughed about all that we didn't know or think about but have since learned as we traveled in opposite directions. While in Racine, we also got to meet their greyhound rescue dog, Peyton. What a charmer!!! It was really fun to catch up and to see how their boat had changed to become theirs...We got to hear about the rest of their trip north...and since they follow our blog they had questions. Bill also had arranged for us to eat supper with Bob and Carol Kunath, dock friends of theirs who are also contributing authors to the SKIPPER BOB and Waterway guidebooks ...really quite the authorities on Lake Michigan and LOOPER boating. We spent a late night eating, drinking, and telling boat stories...Bob tried really hard to get Floyd to just stay in Racine...that didn't work....the evening ended on a great firework display provided by the marina's Italian festival ...oh, and they all had to walk dogs.
