As we approached lock 6, guess who was there??? The family of four...they greeted us warmly and said they'd been waiting for 15 minutes for our arrival. Yes, we said, cars are faster. The mother chatted about how she had been raised around the locks and realized that her two daughters really had no concept of boating and locks. So they had followed us to watch it happen. Fun conversation.
