Thunderstorms we experienced yesterday afternoon were the worst we've ever seen...on or off the boat. Not the rain or wind...the lightning....that was some loud, instant, wicked stuff. Just ask the owner of the little red sail boat across the way...fire then ...dealing with the hole it left in the bottom...the fire trucks and ambulance appeared after the fact...but they got it out of the water before it sank...more excitement than we've seen in ages...still folks fishing and walking the docks...and once again Linda brought home strangers...people are always amazed that you can travel and live on a boat...oh, and be from Kansas..then around 9 PM we noticed more emergency trucks up the hill...so Floyd went to investigate...he thought it looked like someone having some sort of medical problem on the second floor of the restaurant...nothing they couldn't handle without him. But we think the rain has left the area for a awhile...looks like winds will kick up and clouds will stay around. We're thinking that might deter the Friday tourists...so we'll dawn our jackets and venture up the hill to do our bit the the local economy....it's day two in Fish Creek.
