Winds out of the west ...waves predicted 2-4... Captain said no go again today. We googled a grocery store that was close...only to discover it was closed for remodeling. Our trip next door to the visitors center resulted in the discovery of a " dial a ride" bus service...for a one dollar fare ( we are senior citizens, you know) we rode to an auto parts store ( stuff for Floyd's projects) and a really top drawer grocery...rainy afternoon nap and Mexican food Monday...a little Rummikub lesson and it's almost bedtime. This is a nice little town ...and the marinas and car ferry terminal surround the neatest park area. Dakota, Floyd and I explored all the sculptures, historical markers and even playground equipment this evening. Tomorrow will hold us captive again...when they predict 4-5 foot waves, we stay put. Besides, we bought a pound and a half of fudge at Kilwins...we're good for a couple more days!!

We have yet to meet anyone who can explain the siren...noon and 10PM....loud and long...every day....seems weird. .?? Wonder who started all that and why?? We did have one local tell us one was the signal to get the restaurant and the other was time to go to bed...though I doubt that was the original intent. Mystery to be solved....
