Fort Loudoun Dam, the second largest on the river. The Fort was established in 1756...this dam started in 1967 came under serious objections. Family farms as well as Cherokee burial grounds and village sites would be destroyed in order to complete Tellico Lake.  We were thrilled because it was our last lock UP..which we consider the roughest...and we wouldn't have anymore locks until we start back to Huntsville. So just around the corner to the Marina...several nights exploring Tellico Lake on the hook...then some time in Knoxville...good times ahead!
