Our luck will surely change! We started today so hopeful...and No waiting at Brandon Road Lock and Dam...they'd be open and ready for us when we got there...we were in the midst of a "happy dance" when lock master said...not so fast! Lockport lock is CLOSED for the next 36 hours!! WTF!!!


 We are living right! On the way down three weeks ago, we traveled with a couple of other boats and spent time on a cement wall in Joliet waiting for a lock opening (of course)...pretty rough neighborhood but the locals pointed out free electricial outlets for mooring...if need be, they said great free stop....boy, oh, boy, did that information save the day!! So here it is....9ish on Tuesday morning and we are trapped by maintainance at the next lock! No laundry near by...a few chores we could do...rain is due to arrive later tonight....we are done for a couple of days! Not where you'd really plan to spend a couple of days...but as my colleague Ralph Teran use to say....it could be much worse!! I'm calling it another part of a miracle...God's timing to delay our visit in Chicago until the Cubs return!! Linda and Floyd ARE going to Wrigley Field!!! And Weber grill!! Woo hoo!! So worth it!!
