Saturday...July 16...Captain turns the big seven - 0!! It's a great day to be on the lake...temps in the 70s...waves are a little higher than we like but very doable....so special breakfast for the Captain...squeaky ball onshore to wear Dakota down...11ish and we are off...a little 14 mile jaunt to Hammond, Indiana...2 hours later we arrive at rush hour on the fuel dock! Cigarette boats are making a mass exodus and everyone needs gas! We manage and park...a minor glitch once we get to our slip with the pass gate card (someone forgot to activate it)... And we seem exhausted! A little meet and greet at the docks...a little birthday celebration...a little nap...a little supper...yep, it's about bed time. I will say the folks around here are mighty friendly. But alas, tomorrow we head to Michigan City. We plan to be there a couple of days..touristy things to do...and the only deadline we have now is an appointment with a dog groomer in Saugatuck on Saturday the 23rd...we can handle this!!
