We had grand plans to dress and visit the casino in Hammond...but after that nap, we thought leftovers and hitting the sack early was a better alternative. We aren't as young and energetic as we thought!
So 7 AM departure went well...even though the lake was a bit rougher than we had thought, we knew it was a short trip to Michigan City. About an hour in to our three hour trip, Coast Guard issued a small craft warning for our spot of Lake Michigan....and a quick check of the weather showed a fast moving line of thunderstorms with lots of lightning headed our way! Holy €#%$, batman....Captain bumped our cruising speed up to 12 MPH...and we flew into our slip, lines tied and electric on....and the rains came!! Didn't last long, but winds are still gusting at over 20 MPH. That's life on Lake Michigan! No plans to go anywhere soon.

We headed to town to play tourist at Barker Mansion Museum...grabbed lunch/supper at Matey's on our way home. Napping, blogging, rest and relaxation will fill the remainder of this day. Tomorrow Floyd's headed to another museum...and I'm headed to the local outlet mall...over 100 stores just blocks from our boat! We shall see what we shall see! So much better than river life! We have nothing on our agenda except an appointment with that dog groomer in Saugatuck on Saturday.
