Sent our French sailboat friends off to Lundington yesterday....they like wind! Strange! We worked on river section planning which continues to get complicated....heat and high water...lock closings....marinas for gasoline out of commission...and traveling with a sweet dog who has resisted every ploy to “do business” on the boat...I wasn’t looking forward to that section anyway. This is not my idea of an improvement. Plans are starting to fall into place...partly because we’ve been this way before. We’re going with current most of the way...so should get a push which will definitely help on fuel consumption. I’m feeling confident we’ll make it...provided the heat doesn’t cause us to get so cranky we kill each other along the way!! Lol...We planning three long days without air conditioning from St Louis to Grand Rivers. Once we arrive, there will be serious air conditioning, sleep, and spa treatments! Good to have things to look forward to!

We did a stroll through downtown Manistee...found some kitchen gadget Floyd thought we needed...and a pub for late lunch. Floyd’s night to cook! So he bought lunch...and we did a refidgerator/leftover supper! It all works! I took a great nap! Wow! Though we did giggle a bit as we wore jeans and long sleeves, while the natives were sunbathing!

For today, the wind haas died...looking at waves one foot or less...cruising to Ludington. Home of THE BADGER....grocery visit....and Maybe another evening of dining out. We’re considering a longer day tomorrow to Muskegon. Looks like weather mid week will hold us hostage again...and we’d rather be in a place where we’ve got some tourist attractions for Floyd.

Still looking at Saugatuck and new house batteries the first of next week...Chicago around the 18th...plan A...weather  permitting!! Now better go grab that sweatshirt and get to my first mate duties....we’re headed out shortly!!
