Best laid plans....left DC about 6:45 ...it was a brisk 42 degrees...somewhere before noon we discovered that while the auto pilot steered just fine, the helm steering was worthless. Quickly aborted our efforts to dock at Duhlgren Marina for the night and pushed on to Coan River. What was a leisurely two day trip going became one really long day. Docked just fine at Coan Marina at 7:00pm....Bob Jackson was there to greet us, help with lines, and taxi us to the Hilary restaurant...hot potato soup, salad, casserole...and hot fudge and strawberry sundaes for us....oh, what an end to a less than perfect day. These folks are destined for sainthood!!!!!
