The other "must see" for us was the National Law Enforcement Memorial. Floyd had been a participant in its dedication service in 1991. It was something he really wanted me to see. It is on Judiciary Square and features two walls of blue-grey marble. Names of all known American peace officers who have sacrificed their lives are engraved on these walls. We hadn't been there long when we discovered Brian Etheridge's name. He was the Wichita Sheriff Officer who was ambushed last year. Then Floyd read in this mornings Wichita Eagle that he was being recognized by the Governor. That article mentioned that his name would be engraved on the National Memorial...guess what...it already is!!!!!
