Our arrival into Washington was something for the record album. We docked for fuel at James Creek Marina with the wind against us. Captain and First Mate proved that just like riding a bicycle those skills do come back quickly. Departure impressed the crew as well. We continued down Washington channel to find our slip in Washington Marina...fourth fairway, second slip on starboard...narrow, narrow, narrow. Once again, Captain put her in on the money, and First Mate hooked the cleat...neato bandito. We were thrilled to have proper electricity and be able to depart the boat. the air conditioning has been running non-stop. Weather here is unseasonably warm...been in the high 80s...and the HUMIDITY is kicking us too. We have the Washington Monument just up the hill. Highway 395 and the 14th Street bridge are on either side of us. Airplanes and helicopters come and go all day and night. We are close to the Tidal basin and Jefferson Memorial, three different metro stops, a SAFEWAY grocery store, several restaurants and a huge open air fish market. Oh, so thankful the wind blows the other way. We have a trio of turtles that hang out at our corner and we've seen the cutest family of tiny tiny baby ducks...11 of them. The first night here we watched several of them swim right into a piling, then peck at it, as if to say, "bad, bad piling". It was sooooo funny. I'm still trying to get a photo. Our twin Carver is across the fairway from us...Floyd hasn't seen anything they have that we don't. He's feeling pretty good about his upgrades. The only thing we are missing is laundry but the harbor master tells us that we can work a deal with the yacht club next door. We'll be looking into that later today.

Happy you are docked and comfy for the time being. Sounds like you are busy, busy, busy and back on schedule. I bet the Baumans had a wonderful experience. Maybe you will soon cool off and have more pleasant weather. Stay safe.
